The Drying Bag is a wrap-on drying jacket. It goes over your dog's back, chest and belly with his head and legs left free, the neck gathers with a drawstring, and a long flexible hose at the back takes the nozzle of your own hair dryer. The warm air is channelled into the jacket instead of being aimed at his face, so the whole coat gets dried, not just the patch you are pointing at.
What it does
- Spreads warm air across the coat rather than at one spot.
- Keeps your hands free, so you can steady him and reassure him while he dries.
- Cuts down on the towel work. How long it takes depends on his coat: a short coat is quick, a thick double coat will still take time.
- Light fabric, about 5 oz (137 g), easy to store.
Be clear on what it is
It is a jacket, not a dryer. You use the hair dryer you already own. The hose end is elasticated and gathers around a standard hair dryer nozzle. If your dryer has an unusually large or oddly shaped nozzle, email us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it will fit.
Introduce it gradually: let him wear it with the dryer off first, feed him something good, then switch the dryer on at a low setting. If your dog already panics at the sound of a hair dryer, this will not change that.
Stay with your dog the whole time it is on. Use the low or warm setting, never hot, stop if he pants heavily or tries to get away, and take it off as soon as he is dry.

Between two sizes? Go up. A jacket with a little room still works. A tight one does not.

How long will it take to get here?
Your order is passed to our supplier straight away. They pack it within 1–6 business days, then it is 5–11 days in transit. Most orders land 10 to 20 days after you place them. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships and you can watch it the whole way.
We ship from our supplier, usually overseas, which is why this is not two-day delivery. It is also why the price is what it is. If you need something by a specific date, buy it locally instead — we would rather say that now.
What if I order the wrong size?
Every page carries the real measurements. Go by the chart rather than the photo and read the sizing note — it tells you which way to go if you are between two sizes. If it still arrives wrong, that is exactly what the 30 nights are for. Email us and we will sort it.
Who am I buying from?
Gentle Hounds is a small independent store in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Orders are packed and shipped directly by our supplier, so the parcel will not come from our address. Support is an inbox we read ourselves, and we reply within one business day.
