These Terms govern your use of gentlehounds.com and any purchase you make from us. By placing an order you accept them. Please read the safe use section, it matters most.

1. Who we are

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. By ordering you confirm the information you give us is accurate and the payment method is yours to use.

3. Products, pricing and availability

  • All prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes applied at checkout.
  • The photos on our product pages are AI-generated illustrations of the products. The colour and small details of the item you receive may differ slightly. The written details and size charts are what you should go by.
  • Sizes and weights are nominal and subject to normal manufacturing tolerance. Our size charts are measured by hand, so allow about an inch either way.
  • We may correct pricing or description errors, change prices, and limit or refuse any order, including orders that appear to be for resale. If we cancel a paid order we refund it in full.

4. Orders and payment

Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we pass it to our supplier for dispatch. Payment is taken at checkout through Shopify Payments and associated wallets. We do not receive or store your full card details.

5. Shipping

We ship within the United States only, from our supplier, which is usually overseas. Delivery times in our Shipping Policy are estimates, not guarantees, and carrier delays are outside our control. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery. Our Shipping Policy forms part of these Terms.

6. Refunds

Our Refund Policy, including the 30-night guarantee, forms part of these Terms.

7. Safe use. Please read

The Carrier Hoodie

  • It is a carrier for short stints with a small dog or cat you can already hold comfortably in one arm. It is not a safety restraint and must not be used in a car.
  • Never leave an animal alone inside it. Do not wear it while cycling, running or riding a motorbike.
  • Check that your dog can breathe freely and is not too hot. Take your dog out if it shows distress, struggles or pants heavily.
  • Keep the drawstrings clear of your dog's neck and away from children.

The Drying Bag

  • It is a jacket for use with a hair dryer you already own. It is not a dryer.
  • Stay with your dog the whole time it is on. Use the low or warm setting, never hot, and take it off as soon as your dog is dry.
  • Stop at once if your dog pants heavily, struggles, or the coat or skin feels hot to the touch.
  • Check that your dryer nozzle fits the hose before use. Do not use it if the fit is loose or the fabric is damaged.
  • Not for use on dogs with skin conditions, wounds, or heat sensitivity unless your veterinarian says it is appropriate.

Both products are not toys, not for children, and not for human use. Stop using a product and contact us if it is damaged.

8. No veterinary advice

Anything we publish, including product pages, emails and social content, is general information. It is not veterinary advice and not a substitute for a qualified veterinarian. If your animal has a medical or behavioural problem, please see a professional. Results vary between dogs and nothing we publish is a promise of a particular result.

9. Assumption of risk

You use our products with your animal at your own risk, and you are responsible for supervising your animal and for judging whether a product suits it.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gentlehounds is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising from your use of this site or our products. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product giving rise to it. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

11. Warranty disclaimer

Beyond the 30-night guarantee and the rights you have under applicable law that cannot be waived, products are supplied as is, without implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Gentlehounds against claims arising from your misuse of a product, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Intellectual property

The Gentlehounds name, logo, site content, copy and images are ours and may not be copied or reused commercially without written permission.

14. Acceptable use

Do not use this site unlawfully, attempt to interfere with it, scrape it, or resell our products without written authorisation.

15. Third-party links and services

We are not responsible for third-party sites or services we link to, or for their content and policies.

16. Resolving problems

Talk to us first. Email support@gentlehounds.com and give us 30 days to put it right. Almost everything ends here, and we would rather refund you than argue. Please also contact us before disputing a payment with your bank.

If it cannot be resolved informally, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Minnesota. This does not remove any right you have to bring a claim in your local small-claims court, or any consumer protection right available to you under the law of the state where you live.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms. The version in force is the one published here on the date of your order.

18. Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
